Life took a bit of a turn and I ended up on an entirely different flight path than I planned for. That job that was amazing and gave me the schedule I wanted? Turned out to be full of snakes. I got out pretty quickly once I realized that, and decided to turn my life completely upside down and move across the country. I stopped fighting against what I REALLY wanted and just went for it. Full send, as the kids say. The previous job was focused on helping people at the end of their life and it was a new branch of social services for me. I wanted to test those waters, but ultimately realized I am better with children. Adults suck. Kids are amazing. Not the “end of their life” adults. They were great and lovely and the elderly have a special place in my heart. But I need to be around kids. That’s what I’m good at. So, I applied for jobs, got my top pick, and moved across the country. I’ve been here a year now. There’s a lot to unpack, literally and figuratively. Stories for another day…..
